12 Great Ways To Lose Weight Fast

Alright! I know the experts say losing weight pretty fast is not something to be encouraged.

Why? because it doesn’t last; you tend to gain it back fast! I sincerely agree with them but what about when you need to lose weight for an occasion coming up in a month’s time or even two weeks!

You wouldn’t want to miss that little black dress in your closet would you? So in this case, it is permissible to lose weight fast!

This is a balanced and flexible plan that you can use for as long as you want.

1. Make it fun! Get a pink small note book (Yes, I love pink!) and a fancy pen. Keep note of what you eat throughout the day. Nothing bogus just say it as it is.

You do not need to estimate calories. Just write down what it was that you had and the approximate quantity.

This will help you to be conscious of eating the right things that will enhance your weight loss and dropping those that wouldn’t.

2. Plan your meals and snacks ahead of time. Plan your shopping too - make a list of what you need and stick to it.

If you just grab something when you are feeling hungry, you will probably choose high calorie food.

3. Deliberately halve your intake of butter or spread on your bread, toast and potatoes. Also half the oil in the fry pan always.

4. We are not going to be hard on ourselves and say no to chocolate, ice cream, cake, cookies, etc. We will only limit these treats containing sugar to three times a week.

5. Consume lower fat source of protein at most meals: chicken, fish, beans, cottage cheese, or low fat yogurt.

Red meat, nuts and eggs should be taken occasionally but not every day.

Also plan to build your meals around whole grains, vegetables and beans to increase fiber and reduce fat.

6. Stop taking whole cream milk. Do this by reducing to a lower % of  fat. From 2% reduce to 1%.  Same goes with cheese and yogurt. When you buy yogurt check that it does not contain sugar.

7. Have at least two servings of fruit every day. This can be for dessert or snacks. Choose fruit that is in season.

8. Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! So much has been said about this but it is true!  Drink water – lots of it!  instead of sodas, juices, milky drinks or alcohol.

9. Include at least two servings of vegetables at lunch and dinner. If you are getting hungry, have more.

10. Use whole grains wherever possible. The fiber will give you a fuller feeling and also help your digestion.

11. Chew! Chew! Chew!. This will increase your fiber intake, and the act of chewing will make you feel more satisfied too. It is easy to eat too much if you are racing through your meals.

12. No TV while eating! Studies have proved that we eat larger portions in front of the TV, probably because we are much less aware of what we are eating.

Always switch off the TV when you eat. That includes snacks as well as meals.
