Estonian Diet

Estonian Diet

Estonia… What is so special about this country and especially about its cuisine? Actually, Estonian food is quite delicious, but for a lot of foreign visitors, traditional Estonian food can be, frankly, daunting.

People from most parts of the world are simply not used to chowing down on marinated eel, or swallowing spoonfuls of jellied meat for that matter.

And it goes without saying that a lot of people would flinch before attempting anything called ‘blood sausage.’

In Estonia meals with meat, potatoes, vegetables, black bread and dairy products are the most common. Vegetarianism is not common.

A typical Estonian meal includes bread, milk, meat, potatoes, vegetables, pasta and sandwiches. Estonians cook a lot at home, and eating out is more common in cities, where you can find Chinese, Italian, and Mexican restaurants.

But you may be surprised that Estonians also have their own diet! And, what’s more, it’s very helpful.

Estonian diet lasts for 6 days and you may lose up to 5-6 kilos! So, if you would like to try something new and, at the same time, useful and healthy – you are welcome here!

1 day: 6 eggs and 150 grams of boiled chicken.

2 day: 500 grams of low-fat cottage cheese and 2 slices of black bread.

3 day: 700 grams of boiled chicken and 150 grams of buckwheat.

4 day: 200 grams of boiled rice and 300 grams of grilled vegetables.

5 day: 6 mid-sized potatoes and 1 glass of low-fat milk.

6 day: apples and oranges.

During this diet you may drink a lot of still water, green tea with lemon and you may drink 1 cup of coffee without sugar.
